I am talking about Humane’s AI pin and Rabbit’s R1. Both had created an exciting future. Humane said the future is not on your face. There, Rabbit R1 said, man, smartphones have become old.
You don’t even need to keep apps on your mobile phone. The thing was looking very cool and futuristic to see and hear. But when this product comes on the market and MKBHD reviews it, then everyone knows the whole truth because both of these gadgets are such that they can’t even perform a basic smartphone task in today’s time.
Humane
Humane‘s AI pin was presented as a very futuristic device. There was a projector, you could talk to it, and it had hand gestures, and stick cameras. And it looked like you would wear the device in the coming time and not keep it in your pocket. It was very cool to see and hear. But exactly this device turned out to be a cheap Android phone. An Android phone that does not have a screen, but a projector. And this Android phone runs on the 4-year-old Snapdragon 720G.
Even its operating system is based on Android 12Q. So you can understand that a lot of outdated hardware has been given to you here. And basically, this AI pin is not doing all the work here. Basically, what does the AI pin do here? The camera clicks data from the microphone and sends it to its server, the information is processed from there and presented it to you.
It looks very cool to see and hear that you will get all the answers immediately. AI will do all your work, tell you in front of you, and all the information will come. But the question is, can we do a gross check here? Because this is the problem that AI was very inaccurate. It was not working properly, it was buggy. And according to the first-generation product, it was a very mediocre quality product to see here.

The same story starts here for Rabbit R1. Rabbit R1 was another new type of device. Whose work was that here you will be given AI capabilities in a small device. I mean, AI is also available on mobile phones. So what new work will Rabbit do? Because it looks like an Android phone to see and hear. Now here Rabbit was saying that you keep a lot of apps in your mobile phone.
There are no apps in Rabbit. All the work will be done on the cloud. If you want to use any app here, you just have to say that use this app, book a ticket here, and book food here. Whatever work you want to do, just tell him, and he will go to the cloud, open the app, click the virtual buttons there, and fill in your details there. And it will take all the confirmation from you.
That is, you will not be able to see anything on the screen about what is exactly happening. But in the cloud, it will do all the work for you and run all the apps. Dude, this simple thing was made in mind and it was called the large action model. Here you will not need to take action, the action on your behalf will be taken by AI.
But when this device comes into the market, it also faces a lot of problems here. That is, even though there is a touch screen, you cannot always use the touch screen in it. If you want to control the volume with brightness, you cannot do it with one hand. In addition, the camera inside it is also rotated, and dialed, and you get to see a lot of basic devices, which does not have much to do here.

And basically, both companies present it in a way that we will replace the smartphone. But from any angle, they are not able to come close to the smartphone at all. That means both these companies had a plan here to bring such a device that would shake the smartphone market. But it is next to impossible to do this. Because of the work that these companies are doing with their devices, this exact work is possible here with your mobile phone.
Just put an app on your mobile phone and you will start using AI in your mobile phone. But anyway, a question arises what happened suddenly when every company started running after AI, AI hardware? In the market, the mobile phone operating system is seen primarily by Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android. And no new company, the biggest company, can shake their monopoly, including Microsoft, Meta, and many other companies.
That’s why these companies and all the new companies are coming, they have seen what can be done with their alternative creation. And here comes the answer of AI. Since the chat GPT has become popular in the market since the new AI has come into the market, So I thought that a lot of people are making websites, making apps, and making software.
So some companies thought why not make their hardware here? Even a company like Meta also brings its Quest VR headset and it has made its OS in such a way that the way you get to see Android, So its Horizon OS should be seen, on which other companies also take out their devices.
But here comes the point why is so much emphasis on artificial intelligence here? Because in the market, you can also see AI in the mobile phone. Now tell the truth, AI is in the mobile phone, but the work of AI happening in the mobile phone is happening at a very high level. And now you are hearing the name of AI, but it has been coming for years.
I have been hearing AI for 5-6 years from today. Here, the sky replacement used to come in Xiaomi’s phone, you used to see Google Assistant and Siri in the mobile phone. Here too, AI was talked about then, it was at a very high level, even today when we talk about AI, it is also very high level. Even today, the work of AI is basically happening in that it will collect all the data from your mobile phone, It will send it to the server, all things will be processed in the cloud, and after that, you will get to see everything.
Most of the work is happening in the cloud, but mobile phones are becoming capable here that all the information is left, Your own devices can process it there. What Will Happen to Rabbit & Humane
But the time comes that what will happen to these AIhardware companies now? Because they had presented such a future that they would replace the smartphone here too. But now the replacement of their smartphone is not being completed because the smartphone will be much better. And they are not even able to do the basic tasks of the smartphone. Even Rabbit R1 was only becoming popular in the market because its pricing was only $200 here.
While the biggest criticism about the human’s AI pin was that its price was exceeding $700. What exactly will happen now, I think that many more AI startups and AI hardware things will come. But I don’t think that such a big impact and such a big thing in the market should be created, which will replace your smartphone.
In the coming time, if any company brings its AI, and predicts AI, then all these things can go ahead in a mobile phone as an app. Google and Apple just have to do this. An app has to be released here and Rabbit says that we will run a large action model. You don’t need to put an application, we will run all the applications in the background. Can’t this feature come in your mobile phone?
Can’t the AI in the mobile phone reduce it so that you don’t need to open the app, but you have everything in front of your eyes? All these things are trying to do here by Rabbit R1, but many problems come in all the apps that the data that is being fetched in Exactly, which is being filled in this way, is it being filled accurately or not?
This is also a fundamental problem that these devices are not able to solve here. Because they predict that the future will be screenless. And the need for screens is so much in today’s time that at least you know that the AI that is working Exactly is doing right or wrong. And because of this, the mobile phone goes a long way. Many companies have been trying to create replacements for mobile phones for a long time.
Even Apple Vision Pro Didn’t Succeed
Even Apple tried to create the same thing with Vision Pro. But the truth is that even Apple was not able to create a device of this type with Vision Pro. That too will come on top of AI, but not AI hardware. With this, I can also tell you that Vision Pro, Apple was thinking that the next iPhone would be the moment.
